"Anybody can cook"

“Anybody Can Cook”

If you’re like most families with kids, I’m sure you picked up this week’s latest DVD to hit the market – Ratatouille. We rarely see a show in a theatre these days. With 5 kids ranging from 13 to 2, it’s simply cheaper to wait until the DVD comes out!

Despite three of my boys initial disappointment that I didn’t purchase Transformers and instead got some movie with a rat, imagine my surprise when we had watched it at least 6 or more times in a matter of 48 hours – they have been glued to that tv and now are spouting off all kinds of fun cooking terms and new restaurant related lingo.

Food critic, health inspector, sous chef – pick an occupation to talk about! And all of those spices! What fun it is to see the kids get so excited and in to cooking. What a way to infuse new life and vigor into our meal times. Along with new cooking terms, we had a great discussion on “saving” ruined soup and how just a few ingredients can make or break a dish, and the best lesson of all…yes, anybody can cook!
